Our Land Rover Defender Stainless Steel Security Door hinge bolt Kits are fully Comprehensive and include all ancillary parts & compounds needed for a full install. Our Defender door bolts are made from high quality 316 / A4 stainless steel and are custom made to be A4-80 Hi-tensile strength. The bolts are chemically dipped black twice & oiled, for a superior finish.
No other Defender door hinge bolt kit on the market offers the same level of security as other kits are normally the standard 6 lobe pin torx security bolts which are now widely available across the Defender market & Internet. Since we released these kits in 2018 we have had no reports of door theft.
Our bolts are NOT the 6 lobe pin Torx or Pin Hex bolts. None of the adaptors from these generic security fasteners will fit our bespoke bolt heads. You are unable to buy our adaptors in any hardware store.
The head of our bolts have a bespoke socket, that is not commonly found unlike the 6 lobe pin torx security bolts.
We include stainless specific anti-seize paste with all Door hinge kits as standard. This keep the threads & Captive nuts water tight & also prevents bolt seizure.
The Captive cage nuts that are located behind the front side of each door hinge / behind the bulkhead are also supplied in stainless steel in our kits. Normally these are mild steel or galvanized, however these standard steel variants rust from the moment a bolt breaks the protective plating on the surface when inserted.
We have the bolts chemically dipped black for two reasons. It makes it more difficult to see the design of the bolt head and aesthetically, it looks better compared to raw silver stainless steel.
The rear side of the bolts are not countersunk, however we have sold many kits. There has never been a problem with the strength or location of the bolts into the door hinges.
We do not show direct HD photos of the head itself, for obvious reasons. (Please do not ask us for photo close-ups). (If you are unhappy with the item, we happily accept returns without reason, due to the nature of the listing mentioned above).
