Description:
The Brute bumper is a 5mm thick stainless steel recovery style bumper for Land Rover Defenders. It boasts incredible strength with its heavy duty build, and aggressive design. It has an 8mm thick top chassis mount bracket for huge strength, in comparison to 2-3mm bumpers.
Standard Land Rover Defender bumpers are 2.5mm thick mild steel. Due to stainless steel being 40% stronger than mild steel, our Brute bumper is around 3-4 x stronger than a standard Defender bumper.
The entire bumper is stainless steel, including treadplates, bolts, body, tow eyes etc.
The Brute bumper sits 20mm further forward than a standard bumper, this gives a slight increase in protection and stance. It is also slightly deeper than a standard bumper dimension.
The bumper has outer arm treadplates, which not only give it a layered effect with more depth to design, but also as a good foot hold if you need access onto the bonnet, wings or into the engine bay.
All Brute bumpers come with tow eyes, but it is your choice if you want us to supply shackles too or supply your own. (22mm Pin Diameter)
This bumper is a redesign/refinement of our original Brute bumper released in 2019.
Tow Eyes & Shackles:
The brute bumper has two, 20mm thick stainless steel recovery eyes. The CNC machine crafts these with a nice 3mm radius on the internal pin receiver hole. The Brute shackle mounts operate fully, with a mounted 10mm thick load spreader plate behind the front face of the already 5mm thick bumper.
For use with shackles pin diameters of max: 22mm diameter and up to 8 tonnes.
Maximum bumper load: 8 tonnes (17,600 lbs).
We supply this bumper with or without WARN epic 8 tonne shackles.
We also supply our own nylon anti-swing washers to brace the shackles nicely and eliminate any shackle swing whilst driving. (Comes with the Included Warn shackle kit only.) Warn epic shackles are rated to 18,000 lbs and are cast steel with a strong protective e-coat finish.
Fixings:
The Brute bumper comes with 4 x Bumax hi tensile blackened stainless steel M10 mounting bolts with 5mm thick washers. We also include our own threaded stainless steel bolt plate receiver mounting plate for underneath the bumper as we do with all our bumpers. We include bolts, nuts, washers & plates for the full bumper install. You need no modifications to install this bumper. We use Bumax bolts from Sweden as they manufacture the strongest stainless steel fasteners available with full process, strength and material traceability throughout.
Fabrication:
All the laser-cut edges are edge linished to a nice radius / rounded corner prior to paint. This includes all design holes, tow eyes slots, tow eyes, shackle pin receiver and the internal & external rear edges of the bumper. Metal finished to a very high standard, attention to detail is ensured throughout. We do this by hand or a CNC machine and is a time consuming process to get it to the standard we supply.
All welds are run multiple times to ensure the thickness of the bumper is fully 5mm throughout, including corners.
We glass bead blast the bumper prior to paint for superior paint adhesion and to avoid iron & steel contamination.
