Description:
The Brute steering guard is a 5mm thick stainless steel steering guard with a clean looking, design free front face and additional strength over standard guards due to additional folded angles & reinforcement.
The Brute guard gives a slightly wider stance and offers a larger, reinforced protection area from the sides compared to standard steering guards. The mounting brackets and are 6mm thick and offer a solid mounting platform.
The Brute comes in two models (with tow eyes & without tow eyes). The tow eye option is good for use up to 2500kg deadweight. If you need larger recovery specs, you should opt for our Brute bumper or Titan Winch Bumper. Steering guards in general should not exceed 2500kg, unless welded to the chassis manually.
During fabrication, we meticulously edge linish and metal finish this item on both sides. This means we manually apply a radius/rounded edge to the laser-cut edges of the item, both front and back, resulting in a superior finish. We sand out the edge of the countersink tool imprint also.
We add a 3mm CNC radius on both sides of the inner holes of the tow eye version to remove sharp edges.
The item is finished in satin black and ready to use. If you need it painting the same colour as your car, you need to arrange this yourself via an auto body shop.
We use chemically blackened Bumax 316 Stainless Steel Hi Tensile bolts throughout this item. Bumax make the strongest stainless steel fasteners in the world and their bolts have full traceability available for the manufacturing process. Made in Sweden to an incredibly high standard. The item comes with all fittings included for complete installation.
We glass bead blast the Defender Steering Guard prior to paint for superior paint adhesion. Glass bead blasting is a time consuming and costly process, more so than other types of blasting. However glass bead blasting is one of the only medias that can be used on stainless steel to key/clean it prior to paint.
We manufacture all items in-house to a very high standard in both fabrication & metal finishing.
