Specification:
- Aluminium construction.
- 3 layers per side amounting to 5.5mm thickness.
- Sold as a pair (x2).
- We sand all external laser-cut edges on both sides of the item before painting.
- All inner design slots are smoothed with needle files prior to paint.
- Satin black paint finish. This time consuming process means there are no sharp edges on the item, allowing paint to have a long life.
- 4.8mm diameter black aluminium rivets included.
- Available for 90 & 110 Defenders.
- No removal of the existing corner capping rivets needed.
- Will fit alongside our 90 & 110 bumperettes if required.
Our Twin Layered Corner Capping Protectors are triple layered to give the best fit of any corner protector on the market.
Each side consists of 3 layers:
- The base layer, sits against the body work first. The base layer is slightly shorter than the others so that it does not overlap the existing corner capping. This ensures that when you fully install the item, there won't be a gap between the corner protector and the bodywork, as is the case with cheaper chequer plate alternatives.
- The middle layer, covers the base layer. We fold the middle layer on the underside and at the rear so that it wraps around the complete rear corner. Folding the corners gives the item extra strength. There is a slot hole on the middle layer so that it can sit perfectly flush with the body work by allowing the existing corner capping rivet to remain. Cheaper corner cappings do not allow for this, so you either have to drill existing rivets out or fit with a gap.
- The top layer finishes the product off by covering up the slot hole on the middle layer. It also adds a twin layered design to the product, giving it depth and a unique look.
Standard Land Rover Defender rear corners are only 1.5mm thickness, adding our 5.5mm thick corner capping protectors increases that to 7mm in total. Giving a huge increase in strength.
It requires 5mm holes drilling to fit with the rivets provided.
